Upcoming Events at the Destination Gallery in Downtown South Boston, Virginia
Spring has sprung, and the Destination
Gallery invites you to celebrate at a “Spring Fling” this Wednesday, May 13. The public is invited to enjoy wine and hors
d’oeuvres as you shop the current selection of artwork. The gallery will make
your spring decorating a little easier by offering a discount of 25% off most
items. Your spring decorating will be a breeze with this special sale
opportunity of the current selection, while the Gallery will make room for new
pieces coming this June. The sale runs Wednesday, May 13 from 5:30-8pm, and
Thursday through Saturday 11am until 5pm.
Following the Spring Fling and sale,
the Destination Gallery will kick off summer with its Summer Art Series,
beginning June 4. The public is invited to attend a reception honoring featured
artist Edna Smith, whose oil paintings will be on display. July 2, a reception
will be held for the talented duo of featured artists Michelle Amatto-Topp,
painter and potter, and woodworker Stuart Amatto-Topp. The paintings of local artist Betty Caldwell
will be featured in August, with a reception to be held August 6.
The Destination Gallery is a
"friends driven" organization of residents and newcomers dedicated to
developing art and culture in our community.
It is located at 217A Main Street in downtown South Boston, and features
40 artists from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region with paintings in all
mediums, handcrafted pottery, glass, wood sculptures, photography and jewelry.
